Marc & the Casuals
Marc & the Casuals
San Francisco, meet Muscle Shoals. The vintage R&B and funk-tinged, blue-eyed soul sound of Marc & the Casuals draws deep cuts from the American songbook--as bandleader Marc Capelle puts it, “We try to have the sophistication that a good DJ would have in picking the songs.” With a core rhythm section of Capelle, Bart Davenport, Pete Straus, Todd Roper, and Tom Ayres, this new-style big band builds on the partnership of Capelle and Davenport, both raised on the classic regional soul sound and genre-busting party bands of Northern California. Expect a live-mixtape feel and a crowded dance floor. "The best damn band in San Francisco" -- SF Examiner.

Viola Booth Group
Formed in early 2012, Viola Booth Group plays obscure 60's R & B and soul covers, pop-soul originals, rootsy rumblers, country and epic ballads, and a 1965 Los Saicos cover. Viola sings and plays the Jazzmaster guitar, joined by rhythm section members of Dead Souls and This Charming Band (Paul Skibitzke, bass) and The Patsychords (Jai Bird, drums), as well as a revolving subgroup of horn players and backing vocalists.
