An 8 hour, 2 Room celebration for our 8 yr anniversary!

Featuring legendary turntablist DJ CASH MONEY

We are honored to have shared the gift of music as MOM DJS for 8 years, in over 33 cities and with a family that is worldwide.

This is bigger than than us, this is everything. We thank you, we love you!

MOM DJS started with a humble beginning and a modest goal. The founder, Donovan Hall (aka DJ Gordo Cabeza), was asked to curate a night at Madrone Art Bar , one of San Francisco’s neighborhood venues. He decided to create a night he called Motown On Mondays. (MOM SF) The concept was to have a weekly event on Mondays that featured the music his mother raised him on … Motown, and make it a unique experience that had ‘family’ as it foundation. Donovan invited his close DJ friends to share their take on the Motor City and soul sound each week. MOM also offered original video footage from the golden era of this music and even hired a chair-masseuse. After its first year MOM SF’s attendance resembled a weekend night. What distinguished this crowd from the weekenders was the consistently positive vibe and attitude of the revelers, DJs and staff.

Today MOM DJs is headed by Donovan Hall and Timothy Ryan (DJs Gordo Cabeza & Timoteo Gigante) with the assistance of a small design and marketing team. We produce weekly events in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Austin along with being featured at many festivals and one-offs each year. MOM DJs is inspired by a creative movement that honors artists like Stevie Wonder, The Supremes and Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Mary Wells. We travel on the shoulders of these musical giants while celebrating and preserving their achievements for generations to come.
